Hong Kong Director #ZuneKwok Won Taiwan's #GoldenHorseAwards: The Film Belongs to Every HKer with a Conscience
The 57th Golden Horse Awards was held on November 21, 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan.
"Night is Young", directed by Hong Kong director Zune Kwok, won the Best Live Action Short. The 25-minute short film follows a night shift taxi driver who experienced the 2019 Anti-Extradition Law Protest in Hong Kong.
Kwok, who also directed a segment in the film Ten Years in 2015, did not receive the award in person in Taiwan, but his speech was announced by his representative.
Kwok dedicated the award to Hongkongers: "The film belongs to Hongkongers who embrace their conscience in different parts of the world. When dawn comes, the award will be handed over to everyone of you".
Kwok's speech also mentions that "may freedom be to the people" and encourages everyone to "keep on fighting". Kwok reminds the audience to not forget the 12 pro-democracy Hongkongers detained in China: "#Save12".

Hong Kong Film "Beyond The Dream" Wins Best Adapted Screenplay at Taiwan's #GoldenHorseAwards, Scriptwriter #TsangChunWing: "Hong Kong Add Oil!"
One more Hong Kong film receives award from the Taiwan's 57th Golden Horse Film Awards on November 21, 2020. The feature length film "Beyond The Dream" from Hong Kong won the Best Adapted Screenplay.
Scriptwriter Tsang Chun-wing from Hong Kong received the award in person and said in his thank you speech the difficulties in finding funding to support Hong Kong's local production. He praised the extraordinary performance of actor #LauChunHim and actress #CeciliaChoi in bringing the film to life.
At the end of his speech, Tsang said in Cantonese "Heung Gong Ga Yau", which means "Hong Kong, Fight On".
