We have foreseen this back in August 2020. As with the "Leave Home Safe" app, the #HongKong government would tell you that it's optional blah blah blah, then at some point it becomes mandatory and you can't get anywhere without a pass, effectively transforming #HK into a smart prison. We're on the way to becoming #Xinjiang.

Many questions are sparked: why is the government's programmers so incompetent that they need to outsource their coding? Where else does personal info from the app actually go? And if it is as the gov't claimed, facial recognition features have never been used, now that FactWire found facial recognition codes in the app, will the govt start using it?
