Events in November 2019 took #HongKong on an emotional rollercoaster. This month had seen some of the bloodiest and most violent scenes of the pro-democracy movement, protesters turned desperate as #CCP's puppet government chose to completely neglect people's demands and the discipline of the police force completely fell apart. Attacks of not one but two universities astonished the world.

On the other hand, in late November, #HongKongers demonstrated how a democracy work by showing the pro-CCP camp a landslide defeat in the District Council elections, a de facto referendum on the freedom movement.

It's very hard to write a caption for such a traumatic episode of the #HongKong protests, which aftermath continues to be felt today. Only a few years ago, it was impossible to imagine anything so much as violent conflicts happening in a protest in #HK, after all, our protests were known to the world to be peaceful and extremely orderly. But #PolyU, a university in the heart of the city, was literally turned into a warzone, by the unscrupulous #CCP.

Two years ago today, the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) laid siege to Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Poly U) for 13 days.

The police trapped students inside and arrested anyone who tried to leave or enter including first-aiders, volunteers, and reporters.

HKPF claimed that protesters were hiding in disguise.

They shot:
1,458 tear gas canisters
1,391 rubber bullets
325 bean bag rounds
256 sponge grenades
in one day.

1,100 people were arrested through the 2 weeks.

Universities are for education and growth, not war.

The government failed us. The police never meant to protect us. The PolyU siege is a prominent example of HKPF's horrific abuse of power and the need for all of us to stand in solidarity with our peers.

This fight is for every Hongkonger and student. ✊💛

After the attacks on #CUHK and #PolyU, the entire population of #HongKong was traumatized and exhausted. The violent images from the week before led was one of the major factors leading to those running against pro-CCP candidates in the #DistrictCouncil elections - most of whom are now in prison, in exile, or simply disqualified. The puppet govt had effectively staged a coup through arbitrary "laws" to get rid of these popularly elected people's representatives, in the last free district level election in #HK.
