Police Assault Pro-democracy Protester During Arrest, Injuries Found All Over Victim's body
March 21 marks 8 months after the 7.21 Triad attack in Yuen Long. Many civilians took part in commemorative activities across different districts in Hong Kong. As police charged in, a total of 61 civilians were arrested. Among them, a 42-year-old construction worker was charged with assaulting the police.
The defence barrister revealed in court that the defendant was assaulted by the police with baton in his hand, elbow, upper body, sternum, lower body and other parts of his body, when the arrest was made.
During the 36-hour detention, he spent 5.5 hours in the hospital for medical treatment and his chest needed to be bandaged due to the wound caused by the police.

YMCA sacks pro-democracy staff, stifling formation of labour union
Citing financial difficulty, the Hong Kong YMCA dismissed 28 staff members a week ago, including 2 convenors of the labour union and 9 employees of the Department of Social Services.
Two of the dismissed employees held a press conference on Monday, March 23, disclosing that Peter Ho Hing-lim, Chief Executive of YMCA has long been dissatisfied with the formation of a union. They condemned the political motivation in the lay-off plan, calling it a “white terror”.
It was also revealed that the senior management of YMCA once claimed that the pro-democracy movement is in opposition to YMCA. The group therefore refused to give any assistance to young protesters.

Former Stand News journalist and now-detained pro-democracy activist Gwyneth Ho wrote about her thoughts and experience when going through the trial in Hong Kong.
Ho was accused of subverting the state and charged with the #NationalSecurityLaw.

Hi, this is D33 here~), I was reading a copy of Ming Pao [newspaper] left on the floor by another defendant. I was momentarily absorbed in an article about the '7.21 Mob in white' court case. It wrote that the courtroom was constantly showing the live broadcast, of that day, from 'The Stand News'… (I feel embarrassed just to think about it.)"

Hong Kong Authorities Accuses UK National Benedict Rogers of Threatening China's National Security
On March 23, 2022, the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (#IBAHRI) calls on the international community to suspend extradition treaties with #HongKong.
#BenedictRogers, a British citizen and co-founder of #HongKongWatch received a letter from the Hong Kong #NationalSecurityBureau.
