US calls on WHO to Invite Taiwan to Attend the World Health Assembly

Unites States Mission in Geneva urged Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the General Director of WHO, to invite Taiwan to attend the World Health Assembly next Monday.

The delegation issued a statement saying that they encouraged WHO to work harder to provide Taiwan with more meaningful cooperation opportunities.

The World Health Assembly next Monday will discuss the global COVID-19 epidemic situations. The delegation thinks that inviting Taiwan to participate is necessary as Taiwan has not recorded a confirmed case of COVID-19 for more than 200 consecutive days, and many countries praised its anti-epidemic performance.

Hundreds of parliamentarians from Europe and Latin America have recently submitted joint signatures to the WHO, requesting Taiwan to attend the World Health Assembly and even join the WHO.

Parents' Distrust on Chinese Brainwashing Education Induce Over 10 Millions of Migrants to the US, Japan and Canada

Sino-US relations have deteriorated in recent years, but the number of Chinese immigrants continues to rise. The Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and Institute of Development of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics released China International Migration Report 2020, a blue paper, this week. It states that China has accumulated 10.73 million immigrants, making it the world's third-largest immigrants exporter. The United States continues to be their first choice, having 2.89 million in accumulation up to last year. Moreover, immigrants population is getting younger, many of them came to the US to study as early as high school, while the proportion of "investment immigrants" has significantly declined. Some lawyers specializing in immigration services said that although many Chinese parents are resistant to "brainwashing education" in China, the US is also tightening visa restrictions for Chinese people.

Chinese citizens tend to immigrate to the US, Japan and Canada

The report cites the International Migrant Stock 2019 by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), which shows that China has accumulated 10.73 million emigrants, making it the third-largest exporter of migrants in the world. For the top three countries they migrated, the order was the United States, Japan and Canada, having the same data as 2015. Last year, the number of Chinese immigrants to these three countries accumulated to 2.89 million, 780 thousand and 690 thousand respectively. In the past four years, there are 220 thousand, 70 thousand and 46 thousand.

The Famous Reporter Jonathan Mirsky, being Beaten up in the June 4 Incident, has Passed Away at Aged 88

A famous reporter Jonathan Mirsky had passed away in Britain on September 5, at the age of 88. Jonathan had been concerning about China throughout his life. He once had a live report on the June 4th incident in Tiananmen Square. He was beaten by armed police until his left arm was broken and three teeth fell out. Jonathan has worked for The Times in Hong Kong since 1993 and resigned in 1998 due to the soft attitude to China from owner Rupert Murdoch.

During the Vietnam War, like many intellectuals at the time, Jonathan Mirsky, as a scholar, actively criticised the United States. He also opposed the United States for isolating the policies of China, which he used to believe the protest of Mao was beneficial to China. In 1972, he was invited to visit China for six weeks as a Committee of Concerned Asian Scholars member. He noticed that the organiser tried to hide a few terrible situations in China. Because of this, he changed his mind from a Mao fan to a counter-revolutionary.
