Tiananmen Square, Uyghur Court: Tower Hamlets plans name changes in solidarity

The Chinese embassy is to be relocated to the East End of London, Tower Hamlets.

The councillors said they welcomed the relocation of the embassy from the West End but “we must continue to make clear where our own standards and principles apply”.

The motion which proposed to rename roads and buildings in the surrounding area of the site Tiananmen Square, Uyghur Court, Hong Kong Road and Tibet Hill was passed. This showed “support for the freedom and diversity of our borough”.

The repression of Uighur Muslims is particularly sensitive for Tower Hamlets, which has the highest proportion of Muslim residents (38%) of any borough.

Kneeling after Being Sanctioned by China; the British Law Firm Website Removed Xinjiang's Genocide Comments

Four barristers from Essex Court Chambers in England London released a legal opinion document, which described that the Chinese government is doing “genocide” in Xinjiang. Thus, the whole firm was being listed into the sanction list of China. According to Financial Times, the firm recently released a statement for “cutting ties”, saying that those legal opinions are not related to other firm members and has already removed the related document on their official website.

The related legal opinion document was distributed to non-profit organisations by the four lawyers in London. It described the actions that the Chinese government did in Xinjiang, involving the crimes of humanity and genocide. Right after that, the firm was being sanctioned by China.

Sport and politics should be separated? The olympics is for bringing people together .. which is fairly political in some sense.

Together We Resist CCP"

Criticise China and Chinese Communist Party
=/=
Asian hate and racism

"We must be aware of the infiltrations from the CCP that aim at influencing the politics in the UK and threaten British democracy," said #NathanLaw. The world's democracy is as precarious as it is.
