Being Banned as Opposing CCP on Ads Boards with #Silence_is_Violence
An organisation, supervised by the US government, planned to publish a large-size advertising board for opposing LeBron James keeping silence for human right suppression by the CCP. However, the advertising company declined the plan.
The National Law and Policy Centre (NLPC), based in Virginia, planned to spend millions of US Dollar for five advertising boards. On the board, a CCP Five-star tape blocks the mouth of a celebrity. Tagged along is a message #Silence_Is_Violence.
The boards were to be placed at the centre of NBA hall at Orlando, Florida, a place that had a fierce battle between LA Laker and the Miami Heat. According to the email, the advertising company Outfront Media refused to publish for the fear of offending the famous star James.
“We can display the CCP Five-star Flag, and we can publish the #Silence_Is_Violence; but we cannot take this case at this time unless NLPC removes the photo of the star,” said by the advertising company.
The CEO of NLPC, Peter Flaherty, replied that some message is as essential as it cannot be removed. Facing the human right suppression from the CCP, silence is absolute violence. We have the authority to point out the hypocritical double standard of James with no censor.
LeBron James always stands for the ethical issue in the US and the police brutality. However, he received strong criticism because of criticising the CEO of Houston Rocket Daryl Morey for supporting Hong Kong. “I do not want to argue with Morey, but I do not think he knows Hong Kong well.”

Daphne Bramham: For Canadians' sake, Canada has to stand up to China
The silence is deafening from a Canadian government paralyzed and unwilling to say anything that might offend China, whether it’s the genocide of Uyghur people or a new Hong Kong law that could bar people, including foreigners, from leaving the territory.
Of course, there are the “Two Michaels” — Canadians Kovrig and Spavor, arbitrarily detained in retaliation for the arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou — who have been in jail for 872 days. It is horrific for them and their families.
By all appearances, China is winning this hostage-diplomacy war.

HK public broadcaster removes social media pages of 12 popular programmes
Since one year ago, the Hong Kong public broadcaster #RTHK, with the change of management, has been removing programmes that the authorities deem "sensitive" from its website and restricting quality programmes from enrolling competitions.
On November 27, 2021,the broadcaster sneaked in a notice at the bottom of its website, saying that the station will halt the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages of 12 shows from December 3, 2021 onwards.
The notice, however, didn't give any reasons to the halt.
The programmes affected are:
- This Morning;
- The Pulse;
- LegCo Review;
- Hong Kong Connection;
- This Week;
- Think About Thinking;
- Headliner;
- Hong Kong Stories – A Time to Mend;
- Rich Mate Poor Mate Series 2 and 3;
- Sign Language; and
- Knowledge Zone.
Most of these shows are no longer in production, including the axed popular political satire show Headliner.
While some of these social media pages have been dormant for periods ranging from around two months to more than two years, others have been popular among netizens and followed by many.
The Facebook page of Hong Kong Connection had 360,000 likes and followed by 440,000.
The Facebook page of Headliner had 420,000 likes and followed by 480,000.
The Facebook page of This Week had 340,000 likes and followed by 430,000;
The Facebook page of Think about Thinking had 87,000 likes and followed by 100,000.
