Stephen Harper warns China likely to be increasingly assertive as U.S. takes less dominant international role
OTTAWA – Former prime minister Stephen Harper said the West needs to be prepared for a more robust and aggressive China going forward in a world where the U.S. may not be so dominant on the international stage.
Harper spoke Friday at the Conference of Defence Associations Institute’s annual conference, in a conversation with Richard Fadden, who was Harper’s national security advisor. The conference was held virtually this year, but usually takes place in Ottawa and the National Post is a sponsor of the event.
