The implementation of the National Security Law and changes to the electoral system were cited as significant infringements on the "One Country, Two Systems" principle. Hong Kong's political rights have been heavily curtailed, with the Chief Executive election and Legislative Council composition being controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.
