Wuhan Pneumonia - Tragic Wuhan style lockdown appeared in Sichuan, China; Chinese netizens were shocked: History repeated itself too soon

#Newspaper

(14 Dec) Wuhan Pneumonia (also known as COVID-19) spreads further in China and the situation is getting worse (instead of the fake official data by the Chinese government), shown by certain new lockdown policies by various local governments in China prohibiting people leaving their homes. In Sichuan, people in a blocked residential area sang in night together. The video was exposed to internet and many China netizens marvelled "history repeats itself so soon".

According to China Today, the Wuhan Pneumonia returned to Sichuan. In Chengdu, the Capital of Sichuan Province, while a residential area was blocked from any access for quarantine, the people sang loudly at night from their balconies and windows under the shining lights. The most interesting was that, they were singing songs from Taiwan.

After the video was exposed to the internet, many Chinese netizens were surprised such familiar picture happened again so shortly - this was the exact picture in Wuhan, the first place being locked by the CCP in early 2020. At that time, many Wuhan people started by quarantining at home and singing at night, but were eventually found died at their apartments. "The Sichuan is repeating what exactly happened in Wuhan, shortly. History always repeats itself", "it's terrible (just waiting to die like this), this does not even happen in America where hundreds of thousands of people died", "it was really like the screams by ghosts or spirits. To be honest, I’d rather quarantine at home quietly", commented by those netizens.

China New National Flag Law: People Living In Fear - Any Act can be Offensive

(2 Jan) Starting 1 Jan 2021, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) enacted a new National Flag Law, governing (prohibiting) new sets of activities that may dishonor the China National Flag, including hanging up the Flag upside down, using the Flag in a disrespectful means, or abandoning the Flag. After the new law started, Chinese netizens are scared and dared not to touch on the Flag anymore: "won't make any mistake if I never show or use the Flag anymore". The new law has been enacted on 1 Jan 2021, together with the new National Emblem Law. The reason for introducing new laws was to ensure the dignity of the China National Flag and Emblem and require the people to respect such national symbols. Apart from respectfully using the flag, the new laws also criminalize those who abandoning the flag and disposing of the flag in any improper way after events. All the comments by the Chinese netizens who didn't support the new laws believe the laws are not reasonable. Many among them scared and believed: "what is improper disposal and how can I dispose of it after events?", "my flag was destroyed by my dog, am I a criminal?", "tons of National Flags found in garbage cans after National Day", "how can I dispose of those old and unused flags, (if I want to dispose of the flag) I will be directly sent to jail?", "I am speechless, the easiest way to become criminal", "China should require people to kowtow (kneeling and bowing) to the National Flags at least 3 times a day otherwise it must be an insult to China", "the Cultural Revolution comes again", "why does the CCP always enact unreasonable and ridiculous laws?", "what happens if I draw a flag on my face and then I pose handstand?", "will not buy flags anymore.

Fears of unemployment causing social unrest, Beijing re-ignites street vendor economy, official media denies "disorder"

(17 Oct) The boom of the street vendor economy first advocated by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in June 2020 quickly waned, with government officials immediately reproaching the method as impractical.

//Li had never encouraged “disorderly vending”. Government officials were deliberately tarnishing his name, rather.

//ever since Li’s advocacy for the “street vendor economy”, he had come under fire by state media. However, similar policies for the street vendor economy were maintained at the local level and included night markets and small storefronts.

//Economist Law Ka-chung indicated that the phenomenon of street-vending was proof of China’s struggling economy.

//He believed that “street-vending” would do little to help the Chinese economy because it was not part of its formal economy; there is no taxation or official records [of the businesses].

Japanese Corporate CEO bought monitors at Chinese e-commerce platform Later found out the “monitor” was just a printing pattern on an Iron plate

(Jan 3) Many people have tried shopping using an online shopping platform for its convenience and low price, but the possibility of getting the falsely advertised item is not low due to no actual physical product display for reference. The president and CEO of a famous Japanese corporate Maywa Denki, 土佐信道 san, shared on Twitter that he recently found a 10.1” inch monitor, costing JPY2,500 (around HKD186 / USD25) each, at a Chinese online shopping platform Wish. He thought it was a good deal and ordered 5 monitors. However, when the shipment arrived, he found out the “monitor” was actually a “monitor” picture printed on an “iron plate”.

Maywa Denki (土佐信道) san ended up to add a few magnetic Maywa Denki musical equipment on these iron plates and resold them on the company website at JPY2,600, all of which were sold up within a few hours. He shared this story on Twitter of successfully earning JPY500, which matches the company style of fun, laugh, and jokes.

Many Doubts on million negatives results on COVID-19 Testing Campaign in Qingdao China

//Recently, Qingdao Government in China announced the completion of 5 days COVID-19 Testing campaign in the community. The result showed that there is no positive case in more than 10 million citizens tests; however, people including Qingdao citizens, are doubting the result.

//The Epoch Times found that no creditable or trustable institution on controlling COVID-19 in China participates in this Testing Campaign in Qingdao.

//Website of the National Health Committee in Qingdao published on 30 Sep the “List of Venues on Testing/Sample Collection of COVID-19 Test in Qingdao City”, showed 74 institutions, but only 37 of which are qualified to conduct COVID-19 Testing.

//Because all the hospitals have daily routine duties, their equipment and staff are relatively stable, which is difficult to spare resources for this large scale testing in the community.

//Virology expert Dr. DONG Yu Hong explained in an interview with the Epoch Times, “if Qingdao could complete 10 million testings within 5 days, 10 health workers work as a group to collect samples, it implies that there are 200 laboratories to complete the testing of 1,000 samples daily.”

//SARS-COVID-2 is an RNA virus that can be very easy to be dissolved, collected samples needed to be kept in a professional liquid for storing the virus, which has to be sent for testing as soon as possible.

//the laboratory would not have sufficient fridges to store bundle samples from the community, and the huge numbers of test boxes and its supplies are also questionable.

//All citizens were tested and results are completed in 5 days but many not yet received the result.

//A woman in Qingdao expressed to our reporters that the government promised the result would be released within 2-3days, but we still did not know the result on the 5th day (now). “This is impossible for the public to know how to test, what method to test, and what is the result.”

//Netizens doubted the government’s result, “when the World is being annoyed by the serious epidemic, there is no local case in the origin of the epidemic, all positive cases are shifted to the responsibility of overseas imported travelers”.

//you all, outside the jurisdiction, should understand what is going on in our country, China. The public is unable to grasp any information, from our government.

//A man in Qingdao expressed to our reporters, “the collected samples number are high and the government is forced to do it. But it claimed that the sample would be sent to third-party institutions for test won’t, its quality is unknown.”

//He strengthened, “this government does not have any creditability, we don’t believe the government. This is an Authoritarianism, we can do nothing.”

‘We’re coming to get you’: China’s critics facing threats, retaliation for activism in Canada

Cherie Wong, the convener of Alliance Canada Hong Kong, an organizatiom fighting for the autonomy of Hong Kong, has been facing repeated death and rape threats.

For instance, in January 2020, even when she had a friend book her a hotel room in Vancouver under a different name, she received threats over the phone.

“I sat in my room and just started shaking, realizing that I could be in very real danger and not knowing what to do,” she said.

Wong said activists who are critical of the China often have their families in China visited by government officials.

“They come and knock on your door and say, ‘we’re coming in to talk to you about your family,’” she explained.

“What dissidents face in Canada is often on the grey area of criminal harassment and just discomfort that you feel (in) daily life,” Wong said.

#Xi Crackdowns Look to Whip China’s ‘Lying Flat’ Youth Into Shape

//Piecing together President Xi Jinping’s recent speeches and a barrage of new regulations that have roiled markets, one savvy internet user this month created a satirical image of what passes for an ideal youth in today’s China.

“The socialist successor of the new era does not attend after-school tutoring, does not play video games, does not chase celebrities,” said the post, which was shared widely before it was censored.

“They finish all their homework at school, read President Xi’s selected works for one hour everyday, go to sleep before 10 p.m., take the initiative to do chores, urge their parents to have more children and help look after them.”

The description highlights how Xi’s push for “common prosperity” and wealth redistribution is about more than just reining in tech billionaires: The flurry of rules and state-media missives targeting industries from after-school tutoring to online gaming and entertainment are also aimed at ensuring the younger generation -- some of whom are starting to embrace a minimalist lifestyle known as “lying flat” -- turns into motivated, patriotic and productive workers.//
