#German Parliament is currently holding a hearing about sanctioning human rights abusers in #HongKong and #China. Yet on the other hand a #European trade deal is on its way. Rather a paradoxical situation! As European and global human rights leader, #Germany has a responsibility to show tyrants that they don’t get their way with cracking down on and killing people who fight for #freedom and #democracy! // #hk #sanction #ccp #glacierkwong #english #diyms
European Parliament to vote on freezing China investment deal

The European Parliament is expected to pass a motion on Thursday pushing to formally freeze the EU’s investment agreement with China, in the wake of what MEPs describe as Beijing’s “baseless and arbitrary” sanctions on EU lawmakers earlier this year.

The draft motion, seen by POLITICO, will also call on the EU to step up coordination with the US to deal with China, while stressing that any trade deals with Taiwan “should not be held hostage” by the deal with Beijing.

#CCP's wolf warrior at it again!!! // Ethnic cleansing is indeed the darkest period in #European history, Europeans know that, that's why they say "never again". #WillyBrandt performed the historical gesture of kneeling before a monument in the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw, enabling Germany to start healing from the Nazi's humanitarian crimes. We don't quite understand what #WangYi is trying to achieve here - to remind Europe of its painful history so that they must stand firmer against #CCP's #genocide of the #Uyghurs now?

Huawei appeals Sweden's ban on company for selling 5G gear

Huawei (HWT.UL) said on Friday it had filed an appeal against a ruling by a Swedish court in June that upheld a ban on the Chinese company for selling 5G equipment in the country.

The company said it had requested an oral hearing in the case, but the Court of Appeal could decide if such a hearing should be held or a preliminary ruling from the European Court of Justice should be requested.

Huawei had earlier said it would consider all options, including an appeal.

First MI5 warning over 'Chinese agent' in Parliament, indicating that European and American intelligence agencies focus on the CCP's United Front

MI5 warned the British Parliament that they suspect Chinese spy Li Zhenju infiltrated and interfered with British politics. Li Zhenju is accused of creating a pro-China political environment through political donations from China and Hong Kong to "influential figures". Although Li Zhenju argued that her participation was aimed at giving a voice to the Chinese in the UK, MI5 pointed out that her activities influences the positions of politicians for the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The incident involved both parties in the opposition and shook the British political arena. The Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, made the MI5 warning public to all MPs. Former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith immediately made the warning public and asked the government to explain the matter to Parliament. Ed Davey, the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party, who participated in the joint condemnation of the CCP's treatment of Muslims in Xinjiang, was accused of accepting a £5,000 donation from Li Zhenju ten years ago. Labour MP Barry Gardiner received more than £420,000 within five years and even hired Li Zhenju's son.
