Huawei has 'Clear evidence of collusion' with Chinese Communist Party, claimed MPs

The House of Defense committee concluded that Huawei is strongly linked to the Chinese state and the Chinese Communist Party.

The report cited a venture capitalist, the Chinese government "had financed the growth of Huawei with some $75bn [£57bn] over the past three years". Thus, Huawei could sell its hardware at a "ridiculously low price point".

It highlighted a claim made by a researcher who alleged that Huawei had "engaged in a variety of intelligence, security, and intellectual property activities" despite its repeated denials.

The report warned that the West should not "succumb to ill-informed anti-China hysteria", but suggested some policy changes may be necessary.

Global outcry over Xinjiang and Hong Kong maddened Beijing

In the declaration drafted by Germany and presented at the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday (6 Oct), 39 predominantly Western countries denounced China for gross human rights violations in the western Chinese province of Xinjiang and the autonomous region of Tibet, and for limiting political and personal freedoms in Hong Kong.

Regarding Hong Kong, the German ambassador expressed “deep concerns” about elements of the recently enacted national security law.

Beijing is angry after many countries support the Germany-led initiative to condemn rights violations in China.

British Parliament Report Urged to Early Remove Huawei Equipment as China Injected Nearly 600 Billion to Huawei for 3 Years

The Defence Committee of the British Parliament indicated today (8th October) that there was clear evidence showing Huawei, China Telecom Equipment Manufacturer, colluded with the Chinese government, and that the Chinese government injected 75 billion USD (5,85 billion HKD) to assist in Huawei expanding. China suggested that England accelerate its pace for completing the removal of Huawei equipment by 2025. The spokesperson of Huawei indicated that the report from the committee was not reliable as the content was not the truth.

Accusation on Huawei of Being Funded by the Chinese authorities, to Sell Equipment at Low Prices to Seize the Market

According to Reuters, the Defence Committee of the British Parliament had a meeting today, indicated that there was clear evidence to show Huawei colluded with the Chinese government and urged that England should remove all the Huawei equipment early. The committee stated that the western countries urgently needed to unite and balance China’s technological advantages, as well as removing all the Huawei equipment by 2025, two years earlier than the originally scheduled date in 2027.

According to the BBC, the Parliament report quoted from a venture investor that he knew the Chinese government injected 750 billion USD for helping the expansion of Huawei within three years. Because of having state funding, they could sell the telecommunications equipment to countries at low prices. A scholar, who specializes in corporate misconduct, stated in the report that Huawei had been engaging in various intelligence, security, and intellectual property activities, but Huawei has always denied it. The report also stated that England did not have to fall into hysterical anti-China, but changing policy was perhaps required.

The Chinese Embassy Sent a letter to the Indian media, opposing their Introduction and the Blessings on Double Ten Day to Taiwan

October 10, 2020 marks the 109th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China (#ROC; Taiwan).

Indian media expressed their goodwill. Apart from the full-page advertisements for Taiwan’s National Day on the two major newspapers, pay-TV stations produced albums with the Taiwan authorities to introduce Taiwan with the cooperation between India and Taiwan, and the fact of Taiwan donating masks to India preventing and controlling the epidemic.

However, the Chinese Embassy in India sent a letter to Indian media, reminding them to abide by the “One China Principle” and not to send the wrong message to the public. This action drew criticism from Indian journalists. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan also criticized China on Twitter for extending its censorship to India.

Questioning China’s indirect threat

An independent journalist Aditya Raj Kaul uploaded a letter sent by the Chinese Embassy in India to various media on his Twitter. The embassy reiterated the One-China Principle in the letter that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China and has become an international consensus. All the countries and Indian media should abide by related policies and perspectives and should not violate the principle. “Taiwan should not be considered as a 'country', or described as 'Republic of China', or described Taiwan leader as 'president'" called the media should not send the wrong message to the public. Other than uploading the letter, Kaul also questioned whether this is an indirect threat to Indian media that reported on Taiwan?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan also quoted the post of Kaul on Twitter, indicated that India is the largest democratic country in the world with vibrant and freedom-loving people. Yet, Communist China hoped to enter India as a subcontinent through censorship. Indians in Taiwan only replied, “disappear!”

Beijing used influence over B.C. schools and Confucius Institute to push its agenda and keep tabs on Canadian politics

The Confucius Institute primarily delivers extracurricular Mandarin instruction and cultural programming, but critics see it as a source of pro-China propaganda. Concerns about Chinese government influence have prompted other Canadian school districts to abandon Confucius offerings, including the Toronto District School Board in 2014 and New Brunswick by 2022.

According to documents obtained by The Globe and Mailg, activities by the institute go beyond the language program. The program’s administrators in China requested reports on the “external environment” – including politics and diplomacy – as well as attitudes toward the institute among local government and community leaders.

Hackers from China have targeted political issues and universities in Taiwan and Hong Kong, Microsoft said in its 2021 Digital Defense Report, which covers the period between July 2020 and June 2021.
