第一章 - 中國鉗制英國學術自由

英國下議院外國事務專責委員會指出，英國的學術自由被中方勢力不斷攻擊，飽受侵蝕。委員會發表一份報告，指中國大使館有系統地鉗制英國大學的學術自由。透過中資孔子學院及中國留學生學術團體，中國大使館以直接行動打壓英國最高學府的學術自由。他們的行動包括：

- 監察英國的異見中國學生，並威脅他們在中國的家人
- 強行中止支持民主的遊行
- 向大學施壓，要求他們棄用批評中國的人士，及取消所有談及中國敏感事務的活動
- 在一個研討會上沒收一份提及臺灣的論文
- 要求學者不要作出對中國的政治評論

英國的學術價值正被中國嚴重侵蝕，英國政府必須捍衛英國的核心價值，制止中國的凌霸，保護英國自身安全及利益。中國政府橫行無忌，懇請英政府實施人權法，制裁侵犯人權自由的人士，並為英國國民（海外）平權！

#BritonsInHK British Values in Chinese Threat Series

Chapter 1 - Threat to academic freedom

According to The House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee, British academic freedom is being threatened by coordinated attack from China. The Committee issued a report stating that the Chinese Embassy is apparently coordinating a systematic campaign to undermine academic freedom in British universities. The Embassy implemented the campaign through China-funded Confucius Institutes, and Chinese Students and Scholars Association. Their activities include the following:

⁃ monitoring dissident students in the UK and harassing their families back home in China
⁃ disrupting pro-democracy demonstration
⁃ pressing universities to drop speakers critical of China and to cancel events addressing issues sensitive to China
⁃ confiscating papers that mentioned Taiwan at an academic conference
⁃ requesting academics not to make political comments on China.

It is time to stand up for British value and stop Chinese bullying. Stand with Hong Kong by implementing Magnitsky Act and giving BN(O) equal rights.

第二章：中國威脅英國言論自由

中國要脅持異見的英國人，藉此向英國施壓，持續威脅英國的言論自由。

在2019年12月，阿仙奴球隊中場Mesut Özil在社交平台Twitter上批評中方對維吾爾穆斯林的不人道對待。其後中方的外交部和中國足球總會迅速斥責其言論，並取消了一場Özil在內的賽事轉播。此外，有消息指阿仙奴球會被警告如果他們不對中方道歉，便會受到中方傳媒封鎖。在之後的一場轉播中，中方的賽事評述員在整場賽事中完全沒有提及球員Özil的名字。

中方明顯想殺一儆百，以遏止英方對中國的政策作任何批評；直到現在，Özil仍未得到足球聯會或知名政客的聲援。很可惜，這並不是個別例子。

在2018年11月，中央電視台記者孔琳琳在一個保守黨研討會中襲擊一名英方代表。當時孔嘗試阻撓同場一個談及香港的活動，惟被請離場。然而，她不從，並掌摑一名英方代表。在2019年11月，她被伯明翰地方法院裁定普通襲擊罪成。

由此可見，英國的核心價值正被英國嚴重踐踏。英國必須努力捍衛自己的國家安全及民主價值，停止使用華為及馬上實行人權法制裁中共官員。

Chapter 2 - Freedom of speech

China is threatening freedom of speech in Britain by putting pressure on Britons speaking out against Chinese policies.

In December 2019, Mesut Özil, an Arsenal midfielder, posted a message on Twitter criticising Chinese mistreatment of Uighur Muslims. The Chinese foreign ministry and Chinese Football Association immediately sprang into action to castigate him and cancelled the broadcast of a game he played in. Furthermore, Arsenal was reportedly warned that a Chinese media blackout was possible if the Club does not apologise. In a subsequent broadcast, the Chinese broadcaster did not mention Özil’s name during the whole game. The Chinese are clearly trying to set an example to stop Britons criticising their polices and yet neither the Football Association nor any leading politician has spoken out for Özil. Unfortunately, that is not the only example of the Chinese government challenging freedom of speech in the UK.

In November 2018, Linlin Kong, a Chinese journalist working for the state broadcaster CCTV, assaulted a delegate during the Tory party conference. Kong tried to disrupt a fringe event at the conference about Hong Kong and was asked to leave. However, she refused and slapped a delegate. In November 2019, she was convicted of common assault by the Birmingham magistrates’ court.

It is time to stand up for British value and stop appeasing the Chinese. Stand with Hong Kong by implementing Magnitsky Act and giving BN(O) equal rights.
