Tsinghua University disciplines two students for placing 10 rainbow flags
On May 14, Huang and Li put 10 rainbow flags on the small table of the Tmall Supermarket wall at Tsinghua University.
On the same day, Huang and Li were asked for an interview, to which both students did not agree. Both students were then threatened by their respective counselors, with specific wording such as "it may affect your graduation" and "it's about whether you can still stay in this school". That night, Huang was was forcibly interviewed by the academic staff who barged into her room without knocking, under the dormitory building. At 12:30 p.m, Li was interviewed by the counselor without consent.
On June 30, Huang and Li were issued a notice of proposed disciplinary action. On July 15, Huang received the disciplinary decision letter, and on July 17, Li received the disciplinary decision letter.
