去年，韩国至少有 50 万工人 —— 来自建筑、运输、服务和其他行业 —— 在为期一天的总罢工中离职。罢工之后，抗议者在城市中心和农村农田举行大规模示威，最终将在 2022 年 1 月举行全国全民动员。

韩国是世界上自杀率最高的国家之一，特别是老年群体。2020年年轻人的失业率达到了惊人的22%。家庭债务超过1800万亿韩元（1.5万亿美元），现在已经超过了该国的年度经济产出。
