The international community has expressed disappointment over UN human rights chief Michelle Bachelet's failure to assess China's treatment of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang during her rare trip to the region.
The amount of security #CCP Chairman #XiJingPing needed on June 30 is way more than the security Princes Diana and Queen Elizabeth II needed altogether. The Royal family was also welcomed & surrounded by #HongKongers. Xi was surrounded by barricades.

The ambition of Xi, isn't just aiming to have complete control over every #HongKongers, #Taiwanese, #Tibetans and #Uyghur, but everyone. Now that there is at least 1 surveillance camera with facial recognition for every 2 citizens in China, they are also planning to do the same outside of the country. Apps like tiktok and zoom help #CCP to gather information, saving users biometrics into their big data and possibly stealing useful information that can become a national threat to other countries.

The #BNO lifeboat scheme is expanded, thanks to the campaigning of #HongKongWatch. But this lifeboat will not be smooth sailing:
1) Reaching the #UK doesn't automatically guarantee safety, when #CCP is actively infiltrating the top levels of government. The scheme itself my be abused to infiltrate 🇬🇧 too.
2) Are the UK ready for #HongKongers? While the community is overwhelmingly supportive of freedom loving #HKers, there are also numerous opposing, especially as #Britain is facing a serious economic and energy crisis.

Overseas activists launching Hong Kong Parliament in exile are suspected of violating national security law : Hong Kong Security Bureau
A group of overseas #Hongkongers announced their proposal of "Hong Kong Parliament", and plan to have the first election next year.
In response, the Security Bureau published a statement to condemn the organisers, including Victor Ho Leung-Mau, Elmer Yuen Gong-Yi, Baggio Leung Chung-Hang, claiming that their actions may violate the 22nd Ordinance under #NationalSecurityLaw (#NSL) -- Subversion of the State, and will arrest them.

Elmer Yuen Gong-Yi, aged 73, is the father of former People Power Chairperson #EricaYuenMiMing and current-issue commentor #DerekYuenMiChang whose wife is a #LegCo member #EuniceYungHoiYan. Elmer Yuen has been commenting social and political issues since the 2019 #AntiELAB movement.
Victor Ho Leung-Mau was an editor-in-chief at Sing Tao Daily Canada. #BaggioLeungChungHang is a former LegCo member who was disqualified from his seat in the vow-taking incident in 2016, and had announced that he was exiled to overseas in 2020.

Also, crackdowns have been going on in #HongKong for literally years. #UK has been saying that the #SinoBritishJointDeclaration is legally binding and that #CCP has broken it, so, where's the legal action to hold them responsible? #HongKongers are very grateful for the lifeboats, but let's not pretend that's an adequate response to CCP's brutal breach of an international contract. We haven't even mentioned the atrocities in #Xinjiang and #Tibet, and military threats in #Taiwan yet.
