In Nov’19, pan democrats won the district council election with landsliding result. Taking over 392 of the 452 seats. Now, most of them are resigning not by their own will, but because of the new mandatory oath.
The new oath is a new method that #HKGov use as an excuse to disqualify councils.
They can be disqualifed with vague reasons such as unpatriotic, not taking the oath whole heartedly, or posting protest slogans.
Once they are disqualifed, councils will be forced to repay all their salaries & allowance.
This is a new method that #CCP uses to remove an election. We sincerely urge countries that supports #hkdemocracy to take action & sanction #HK & #Beijing officials for their actions.
