On Feb 4, #XiJingPing signed a 30-year gas deal with Putin. This happened when Putin visited #Beijing at #BeijingOlympic2022. This explains the relationship between #CCP & Russia & the financial backup #Putin is able to receive during #UkraineWar.
The deal will be settled in Euro. The only way #CCP is able to pay Russia is to use the banking system in #HongKong. Because Russia is now sanctioned & not able to use SWIFT, this will also put HK Dollar at risk.

When every civilized country is sanctioning Russia, isolating it to minimize its power, #HongKong is expected to sign a legal post with it. This is, of course, in favor of #CCP to solidify their alliance. However, this would further damage the city in terms of being an international city.
