猴痘（monkeypox）在歐洲、北美等國家爆發持續增加，路透社報道，迄今有13個國家出現個案。有專家形容是歐洲歷來最大的猴痘爆發。世衛召開緊急會議討論猴痘對全球威脅，認為歐洲踏入夏季，各地的多人聚會、音樂節及派對等增多，憂慮會加速病毒傳播。但專家認為猴痘病毒不會如COVID-19的SARS-CoV-2病毒般容易傳播，相信猴痘不會引發如COVID-19般的大流行。
