🗓 Today, on June 5, the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has kicked off. The main theme of the event is "The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World".
Over the years, the Forum has become the world's leading platform for the business community to communicate and discuss key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets and the world as a whole.
👨💼👩💼 More than 17,100 people from 136 countries and territories, as well as 3,400 media representatives are participating in SPIEF-2024.
The plenary session of the Forum will traditionally be addressed by Russia's President Vladimir Putin, who has previously sent greeting to the participants, organisers and guests of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The SPIEF-2024 business programme consists of four thematic tracks:
🔹 The Transition to a Multipolar World Economy;
🔹 Goals and Objectives of Russia’s New Economic Cycle;
🔹 Technologies for Leadership;
🔹 A Healthy Society, Traditional Values and Social Development: The Priority of the State.
The programme includes more than 150 thematic sessions with over 1,000 moderators and speakers.
In addition, events organised by the Russian Foreign Ministry will traditionally take place on the margins of the SPIEF:
• On June 7, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova will hold a briefing, as well as a session on "International and National Experiences of Artificial Intelligence Regulation: Best Practices";
• On June 8, The International Affairs, a magazine published by the Foreign Ministry, will hold a debate titled "Polycentricity: The Norm of a Future World without Colonies and Hegemons".
🤝 The programme of events of the SPIEF-2024 international track includes more than 10 business dialogues, including formats EAEU-ASEAN, #RussiaAfrica, #RussiaLatinAmerica, #RussiaChina, #RussiaSouthAfrica, #RussiaKazakhstan, #RussiaIndia, #RussiaIran, #RussiaBrazil and other bilateral meetings.
The forum will last until June 8.

💬 President Traoré spoke about the measures his government was taking to address issues such as countering terrorism, restoring the territorial integrity of Burkina Faso, and promoting socioeconomic development. We expressed our full support for these initiatives. <...>
We reaffirmed our strong mutual commitment to continue close coordination in international affairs, above all at the United Nations.
We appreciate President Traoré’s impartial and fair stance on the events taking place in Ukraine as a result of the hybrid war unleashed by the West against the Russian Federation.
Burkina Faso is among a large group of countries that refuse to support anti-Russia initiatives promoted by the West and the Kiev regime.
We consistently and firmly support the just demands of African countries that seek to eradicate the remnants of neocolonial practices continued by the former colonial powers. <...>
☝️ The concept of the Alliance of Sahel States is based on the principle of African solutions to African problems. Africans no longer wish to receive any advice from former colonial powers.

💬 6 июня мы отмечаем 225-ю годовщину со дня рождения великого русского поэта Александра Сергеевича Пушкина и в эту же дату празднуем Международный день русского языка.
На родном языке А.С.Пушкина и Л.Н.Толстого, Ф.М.Достоевского и И.С.Тургенева созданы всемирно признанные достижения российской культуры и науки. Трудно переоценить роль русского языка как средства межнационального и международного общения: на сегодняшний день на нём говорят более 250 миллионов жителей планеты.
Его востребованность подтверждается широким использованием в качестве официального или рабочего языка различных многосторонних структур. День русского языка включён в международный календарь знаменательных дат ООН – в рамках программы развития многоязычия и культурного разнообразия.

🎙 Ответы Президента России В.В.Путина на вопросы в ходе встречи с руководителями международных информагентств (Санкт-Петербург, 5 июня 2024 года)
Основные тезисы:
• Что касается двусторонних отношений [с Китаем], то хочу обратить внимание, что они не носят ситуативного характера, они основаны на глубинных взаимных интересах. Ведь на протяжении 15 лет Китай является нашим основным торгово-экономическим партнёром.
• По большому счёту нам всё равно [кто станет следующим Президентом США] […] Для нас конечный результат, как мы полагаем, большого значения не имеет. Мы будем работать с любым президентом, которого изберёт американский народ.
• Отношение к ФРГ в российском обществе всегда было очень хорошим. Теперь, когда говорят, что сейчас ещё появятся какие-то ракеты, которые будут наносить удары по объектам на территории России, это, конечно, окончательно разрушает российско-германские отношения. Но мы понимаем, что, как говорил один из известных немецких политических деятелей, после Второй мировой войны Федеративная Республика Германия никогда не была в полном смысле этого слова суверенным государством.
❗️ Мы думаем на тему того, что если кто-то считает возможным поставлять такое оружие [высокоточные средства поражения дальнего радиуса действия] в зону боевых действий для нанесения ударов по нашей территории и создания проблем для нас, то почему у нас нет права поставлять наше оружие такого же класса в те регионы мира, где будут наноситься удары по чувствительным объектам тех стран, которые делают это в отношении России. То есть ответ может быть симметричным. Мы над этим подумаем.
• Наших солдат, офицеров [в плену] на украинской стороне 1348 человек. Украинских солдат у нас – 6465. Если говорить о безвозвратных потерях, именно безвозвратных, то и соотношение такое же: один примерно к пяти.
• Мы против терроризма во всех его проявления, против атак в отношении мирного населения, в любом месте и в любой стране. Но то, что происходит сейчас в Газе в ответ на известный террористический акт в Израиле, все-таки на войну не очень похоже. Это какое-то тотальное уничтожение гражданского населения.

🇷🇺🇹🇩 On June 5, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited N’Djamena for the first time in the history of bilateral relations. During the visit, President of the Republic of Chad Mahamat Idriss Deby received Sergey Lavrov who also held talks with Minister of State - Minister for Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Overseas Citizens of Chad and International Cooperation, Abderaman Koulamallah.
The Officials discussed multiple issues of strengthening the traditionally friendly Russia-Chad ties still further. Moscow and N’Djamena reaffirmed their commitment to deepening trust-based political dialogue and expanding foreign policy coordination on topical issues of the international and regional agendas at the UN and other multilateral platforms.
The Officials reviewed:
• options for expanding trade, economic and investment partnership,
• upgrading the contractual and legal framework,
• implementing promising joint projects in the field of energy, construction and infrastructure modernisation, minerals production and processing, agriculture and healthcare.
They focused on expanding education cooperation and training specialists for Chad at Russian educational institutions.
They emphasised the consolidated and principled approach of Moscow and N’Djamena in favour of forging a more equitable and polycentric world order that would prioritise the leading role of international law and the UN Charter, renounce the practice of dictate and neocolonialism in global affairs.
🇺🇳 The Sides coordinated their positions on issues of overhauling the UN Security Council and reaffirmed their common interest in increasing the share of sovereign African states among UNSC members.
🌍 While discussing efforts to unblock conflicts on the African continent, the Sides emphasised that there was no alternative to using political and diplomatic methods, with regional organisations playing the leading role, and the international community providing its support through the UN.

🇷🇺🇧🇴 Russia's President Vladimir Putin held talks with President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Luis Alberto Arce Catacora, who came to Russia on an official visit, in the Constantine Palace.
💬 Vladimir Putin: It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg, Russia. This is your first visit to Russia as the head of state, and we are delighted to have you here.
I have no doubt that you will make a substantial contribution to the work of our forum, considering that you have a degree in economics and previously held the posts of minister of the economy and minister of finance. I hope you will find the discussions that are being held at the forum today and those that are scheduled for tomorrow interesting.
Turning to the bilateral relations between Russia and Bolivia, they are built on a solid foundation of respect for each other’s interests. Although our mutual trade is relatively small in monetary terms, there has been positive growth: last year, it increased by over 2 percent, or 2.5 percent, if I am not mistaken.
🤝 There are several interesting spheres of cooperation, including high technology. Rosatom is implementing a good programme and is building a nuclear research and technology centre in El Alto. One of the completed projects is a radiopharmacology complex, the largest in Latin America, which is already supplying medicines to Bolivian clinics.
