警方國安處5月5日持法庭手令於元朗嘉道理中心撿走曾放置於港大的「國殤之柱」，以調查一宗「煽動他人顛覆國家政權罪」案件。
高志活發表聲明回應，他表示無法接受這一行為，形容國殤之柱被撿走是"outrageous"（令人憤怒的）。他指出自己從未被諮詢或通知，也沒有接到任何有關撿走國殤之柱的事先通知。他對國安法下國殤之柱被視為證物感到困惑，認為這不合理。
高志活指出，國殤之柱早在回歸前就被他作為一名丹麥藝術家的個人項目放置在香港。他強調自己從來沒有被煽動，所有費用都是由他自己承擔。此外，他還提到，支聯會除了曾協助他放置國殤之柱外，還有航運公司、起重公司、香港大學等機構曾提供幫助。他甚至提到，有當局曾經給予批准，容許國殤之柱的搬運和擺放。
