2100 | “Supporting the Righteous at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre” was held at 20:00 at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today. The event was organized by the League of Social Democrats. Around 6000 citizens gathered outside the Centre, across the road and many of them were still on their way. People kept chanting since the event started.

Protesters arrested in this movement wrote letters to the public. Joshua Wong, Claudia Mo, Eddie Chu were invited to read the letters out, and talked about the salary increase of Hong Kong Police Force. On the other hand, familes and lovers read out the letters written to the arrestees on the spot, hoping their loved one inside the Centre could hear them. People cried and none of them ever left even it was raining.

At 2200, lights in the Centre would all be off. People sang “Glory to Hong Kong” with their flashlights on.

The Hong Kong Alliance, in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China called on the public to uphold the “candle-lit” tradition, including those pro-democracy protesters currently being detained for participating in anti-ELAB activities.

An informal gathering was arranged this evening (June 3) outside of the Lai Chi Kok Detention Centre for supporters to mourn and pay tribute to the Massacre victims.
