[Wuhan pneumonia] Some citizens run away by car, but many highways in Wuhan closed
(23 Jan) Wuhan was lockdown at 10am this morning. All services of public bus, subway, ferry and intercity bus in the city were completely shut down. All the channels for departure including airport and train stations are also closed to prevent epidemic dispersal. That’s why many locals tried to run away Wuhan by car via highways. Local media reported that the local state closed many highways successively.
There were long queues at tollgates in different highways this morning. The traffic was terribly bad.
Until 1pm, China Central Television (CCTV) news reported that according to the information from Hubei Traffic and Transportation Department Expressway Management Bureau, all exits including Gongjialing, Xiaojun Mountain, Hannan, Beihu, Huashan Baiquan, Qinglong and West Lake in Hubei were closed. Exits for G4 Beijing–Hong Kong–Macau Expressway including Lantau Peak, Jiangxia, Hannan District, Ansan, Jinkouzhen, Junshan Mountain, Yong'an, West Wuhan, Caidian, North Wuhan are all closed as well. Other highways exits in Wuhan have already been closed.
