HK government: Lennon Wall tarnishing Hong Kong’s image
The Highways Department, Lands Department, Police Department, Transport Department and Food Environmental and Hygiene Department responded in writing to Tai Po District Council, opposing Lennon Wall displays due to environmental and hygiene concerns. They also reasoned that Lennon Walls are tarnishing Hong Kong's image abroad and aggravating societal conflicts.
Herman Yiu Kwan-ho, member of Community Alliance did not agree with the reasons given by the government and countered this argument by saying that the behaviour of the police force could be more damaging to Hong Kong’s reputation.

Inept Regime Unconcerned About Epidemic - Hongkongers Must Save Ourselves
The Wuhan pneumonia epidemic has broken out of control, and the Communist Party’s edict to “see no evil, hear no evil” has caused a crisis of public health. Meanwhile, the HKSAR seems to have learnt no lesson at all from SARS in 2003, still derelict and unwilling to control the spread of the epidemic, putting the lives of every Hongkonger at risk. When the regime that rules us cares not enough even to protect our lives, Hongkongers must save ourselves. We must take up infection prevention measures to protect ourselves and those around us.
We hereby demand the HKSAR regime to immediately implement the following:
1. Enforce border controls for all arrivals from China and all arrivals who present symptoms of the Wuhan pneumonia
2. Suspend classes for all schools until the epidemic subsides
3. Ensure ample supplies of face masks in reserve
4. Ensure ample supplies of proper protective equipment for Hong Kong’s medical personnel
5. Provide daily reports on the latest figures of the epidemic to the public
This Lunar New Year, the Citizens’ Press Conference urges all Hongkongers to stay away from China, and to meticulously take care in your hygiene, wear face masks, and wash your hands regularly.
May we wish good health to all Hongkongers.

[Wuhan pneumonia] Some citizens run away by car, but many highways in Wuhan closed
(23 Jan) Wuhan was lockdown at 10am this morning. All services of public bus, subway, ferry and intercity bus in the city were completely shut down. All the channels for departure including airport and train stations are also closed to prevent epidemic dispersal. That’s why many locals tried to run away Wuhan by car via highways. Local media reported that the local state closed many highways successively.
There were long queues at tollgates in different highways this morning. The traffic was terribly bad.
Until 1pm, China Central Television (CCTV) news reported that according to the information from Hubei Traffic and Transportation Department Expressway Management Bureau, all exits including Gongjialing, Xiaojun Mountain, Hannan, Beihu, Huashan Baiquan, Qinglong and West Lake in Hubei were closed. Exits for G4 Beijing–Hong Kong–Macau Expressway including Lantau Peak, Jiangxia, Hannan District, Ansan, Jinkouzhen, Junshan Mountain, Yong'an, West Wuhan, Caidian, North Wuhan are all closed as well. Other highways exits in Wuhan have already been closed.
