Undercover Police Arrests Recipient For Slingshot, Despite Recipient Refusing To Sign Package
A clerk, aged 24, is prosecuted for his intent to possess offensive weapons. He was arrested on 9th December, outside a McDonald’s store in Taipo. The alleged weapons include a set of projectile device and 200 metal marbles, and as well as the intent to use them for unlawful purposes.
The Customs Department found the alleged weapons in the parcel before the incident at the airport, and informed the Police Force. An officer disguised as an UPS courier contacted the receipt (the defendant), and set up a meeting at the McDonald’s. The defendant requested the disguised officer to show his staff ID at the meeting, but the officer claimed that he left it in his lorry. The defendant refused to sign the parcel, but was taken into custody after the incident.
The lawyer for the defence stated that the clerk has never signed for the delivery. The case is arranged to be heard on 11th December at Fanling Magistrates' Courts, and the defense has made a submission of "no case to answer". The case is adjourned to 22nd January 2020, with bail granted for the defendant. In this period the clerk is under curfew, and may not leave the city.

Pro-Beijing School Allegedly Imposes Political Censorship, Forbidding Students to Wear Black or Yellow Masks
Wong Kam Fai Primary and Secondary School, affiliated with Hong Kong Baptist University, was suspected of imposing #PoliticalCensorship. Stand News was informed that the school's annual journal had blurred the background in some class pictures to obscure drawings of “Pepe”, a cartoon popular amongst pro-democracy protesters.
The school was also said to have banned students from wearing black or yellow masks. Students who broke the new rule would be given demerit points. The informant told Stand News that the new rules, already being enforced by the school, were only announced verbally during morning assembly, instead of via official written notices to parents.

Former Hong Kong lawmaker urges U.S. to punish China's 'ATM': the banking sector
“There’s a stronger way to respond to China’s repression: Hong Kong financial system, which is one of the ATMs of China right now - if we can do something on this, it will be much more powerful,” a former Hong Kong lawmaker
Sixtus “Baggio” Leung said in Washington, after fleeing to seek asylum in the United States in November 2020.
He hopes to meet with advisers of President-elect Joe Biden to urge him to ramp up pressure on China, which tightened its grip over the former British colony with the imposition of new national security laws in June.
Leung suggested action should be taken to block Chinese banks from using SWIFT, a network used by banks globally to make financial transactions, and also target Hong Kong dollar’s peg to the U.S. currency “to try to force China to back to the negotiation table”.
