Pro-China Media Publishes Two Lists of Candidates Who "Should Not Be Supported" Before Election

Being the only direct election in Hong Kong, the District Council Election is scheduled to take place on November 24.

HK01, a china-funded electronic news outlet, published two namelists in its editorial one day before the election, indicating a majority of pro-democracy candidates as not worthy of support.

HK01 classified them into two groups, namely "those who do not uphold the moral and virtue of a district councilor" and "parachuted newcomers". Among those includes longtime activist "Long Hair" Leung Kwok-Hung.

Pro-democracy lawmaker Au Lok Hin, who doesn't run for this year's election, condemned the act as being irresponsible. "How can you say you don't support some candidates so casually, without giving any particular reason? This is a disgrace to journalism."
