Police Call Paramedics "Trash" and Obstruct Medical Treatment
On November 8 in Tuen Mun, riot police refused to let paramedics from the Fire Services Department cross the cordon line to treat an injured arrestee. Police questioned the paramedics for reminding the reporters to film.
Police also repeatedly claimed that they would lodge an complaint to the head of Fire Services Department and warned that they have the power to replace paramedics. During the standoff, police video-recorded the paramedics.
Police then took away the said arrestee and insisted that no one was injured. One paramedic said this is "nonsense" as they were trying to diagnose. The paramedic said a police called him "trash". Another police denied. As the paramedic asked whether or not the person who humiliated him is a police, the police ordered the paramedic to leave.
