Stand With #Yuli Rally

Citizens expressed their support to Yuli, an Indonesian domestic helper and writer in a rally at Edinburgh Place.

In a long-distance phone call, Yuli told the participants in Cantonese that she went to see a doctor because she knew many people were worried about her. Her health condition had now improved.

Yuli pointed out that being detained by the Hong Kong authorities in the Castle Peak Immigration Center (CIC) was harder than being jailed. In the prison, at least she could know the date of release, but she had no idea when she would be free again during her detention in CIC.

During her detention, the Hong Kong Immigration Department did not arrange a female doctor to check her body. It had disturbed her as a Muslim.

Yuli sent a message to all Hong Kong people hoping they could also care about the human rights of her fellow citizens, other domestic helpers and other detainees. Lastly, she chanted "Hongkongers, fight on!" with the rally participants.
