Students of HKU continues their search for missing Vice Chancellor, Zhang Xiang

This morning (Nov 1), the Vice Chancellor of HKU, Zhang Xiang sent out a public statement 2 hours before students initiated to gather outside his office. He claimed that he wants to speak with the students some time in November but didn't provide any further details.

At around 12PM, a group of HKU students gathered in Knowles Building to request a reasonable response from Zhang. A representative of the univerisity then came down and explained that Zhang is not on-site and the school would arrange a meeting with another representative. The students were furious that Zhang never communicated with the students in public and the school's response was always passive. They held signs outside Zhang's office and claimed that they don't expect Zhang to express his political stance, only that he will protect the students of HKU.
