"Hang In There": Citizens Line the Streets in Support as 47 Activists are Taken Back to Custody
0007 | Lau Chi Kok Reception Center
Police had cordoned off the parking area by the Magistrates’ Courts, only allowing journalists to enter.
After midnight on 5 March, the crowd of citizens waiting in support for the 47 arrested activists thus went to the Lau Chi Kok Reception Center to see them off.
They lined the sidewalk, waving cell phone lights and shouting words of encouragement as their vehicle passed by: "Hongkongers, add oil!" "Hang in there!"

Hong Kong Police Accuse Civilians Queueing Up to Enter Courtroom of Breaching the Gathering Ban
1411 | High Court
The hearing of the 47 arrested pro-democracy activists began on Mar 1, 2021 in Hong Kong. On Mar 6, the bail appeal of 11 activists is reviewed.
Citizens queued up outside the court, hoping to get a seat in the court room to show support for the pro-democracy activists who were charged with "conspiracy to subverting state powers" for participating in the primary elections in July 2020.
Over a loudspeaker, the Hong Kong Police, however, accused the citizens of violating the gathering ban (#599G).
The police requested all civilians holding a ticket to line up and have their personal information recorded before entering the court.
In fact, under the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance, people in a queue should be exempted.
Journalists challenged the "standard" police in executing gathering restriction.

On Saturday, March 6, bailed activists #HendrickLui and #ClarisseYeung, though looking very exhausted, insisted on appearing in court to show support for the 11 pro-democracy activists whose bail application are reviewed upon the government's appeal.
Visually impaired lawyer Joy also showed up to give support.
In total, 47 activists were charged with "conspiracy to subverting state powers" under the #NationalSecurityLaw. The authorities' crackdown on the pro-democracy camp has triggered the population's outcry.
