Watch the video: https://publielectoral.lat/guardiansofhongkong/12553
During the press conference on December 2, the Hong Kong Police Force defended their actions, stating that both the elderly woman and the policemen “ had hand movements” and claimed that “no matter for what reason, do not stand in front of the police and obstruct our work. If anyone is dissatisfied with the law enforcement process, they have the right to make complaints and we welcome such feedback.”
Regarding the complaint that the police deployed tear gas, despite the legality of the protest in Tsim Sha Tsui on December 1, which has obtained a Letter of No Objection, the police explained that the protesters went out of the intended route of the protest and attacked officers on duty, forcing them to deploy such means.

Taobao put embargo on export of glass bottles to Hong Kong, including seasoning bottles. Glow sticks were also included in the “blacklist”
Taobao’s embargo list of goods to Hong Kong was alleged to have expanded. A Hongkonger ordered kitchen utensils via Taobao in mid November, including a glass condiment shelf. She was later informed by the seller that “bottles are banned and it will not pass the customs.” Reporters of the Apple Daily had also tried ordering glass containers from Taobao. Few days later, the logistics company notified them that “the parcel contains banned items and has been rejected for consolidated shipment”. They could only ask for a refund for the rejected items. In Taobao Chatbot’s messages, almost everything was banned, including books and food.

Video Leaked: Carrie Lam Praises i-Cable News Director for Being "Cooperative"
On Dec 1, 2020, the paid TV station i-Cable sacked around 40 staff members in the news department, including the entire team of "News Lancet", a reputed investigative news program in Hong Kong.
The sacking has triggered the resignation of the News Team en masse and discontent among journalists and audience. Many questioned whether the News Director, Oscar Lee Tsun and other senior managers, who were recently parachuted to head the news team, are carrying out political assignment.
On the next day, a video footage leaked out, wherein the news director Oscar Li had an interview with Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
In the video, Lam mocked Lee for being too “mild” in his interview questions. In embarrassment, Lee stammered, “...harder questions will come in the next session.”
Lam, however, was not contended as she continued to taunt Lee, “No wonder my press secretary said (Cable TV) is very cooperative, very cooperative, very accommodating, very accommodating.”
After the layoff plan was out on Dec 1, a number of departmenf supervisors and staff members of the News team encircled the office of the senior managers including Lee, Hui Hong-Fai, Tse Yin-na and Chan Hing-cheong.
The staff request an explanation on the TV station's criteria set out to fire them Meanwhile, 16 journalists from News Department issued a joint statement and resigned en masse in solidarity.
In the statement, they criticized management for failing to provide a clear account on reasons for sacking certain staff. They also pointed out that such decision has completely disregarded the journalists’ contribution over the years.

Hong Kong Police Threaten to Arrest Lawyer for "Attacking the Police"
On Nov 24, 2020, a solicitor (alias 'C') of Pakistani ethnicity in Hong Kong was insulted and rudely treated by the police during his work visit to the Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station. Police even threatened to arrest him for "attacking the police".
In an interview with Stand News, C recounted that he was accompanying an arrestee of Indian ethnicity to give his testimony. When C saw his client, he noticed that the man was limping and two police officers had to hold him up.
C was asked to return to the station after he finished his work and stepped out of the station. C was brought to a room and was insulted by the police with Cantonese profanity and others.
Having faced the "rude gesture", C demanded the police officers to give their individual call number, so that he could lodge a complaint.
After that, around ten plainclothes police encircled C and reprimanded him. The police threatened to arrest C for "attacking the police".
C said he was scared as the police could really bring it into action, "if 10 of them have the same malicious goal, who will believe my word?"
C went to the hospital afterwards and found that he had rashes and scratches on his back, shoulder, hands and other parts of his body. C has filed a complaint at the Police Complaint Department and has informed the Hong Kong Lawyers' Association.

HK Police allegedly threaten to throw a riot defendant out of window to get a phone unlocked during investigation of a fire bomb case
In 2019, police arrested 6 men and women for the bottles of white gas and cloth strips found in their home in Causeway Bay on October 1. They were accused of "conspiracy to commit arson", but the prosecutors amended the charge to "conspiracy to commit riot" right before the trial starts.
The trial continued on Dec 2, 2020, and the defendant alleged a police officer of pushing his upper body out of the window to get his phone unlocked, while threatening him, "Speak! Or I will throw you out of the window!". The police officer was also accused to grab one of the female defendants and pushed her against the window, saying, "Why did you do such things? All that glitters is not gold", "You are dead meat and can do nothing. Why don't you just jump out of the window?"

Jimmy Lai and Apple Daily Editors win Golden Pen of Freedom Award
Hong Kong media mogul #JimmyLai and the staff of the shuttered Apple Daily newsroom have been awarded the Golden Pen of Freedom, the annual press freedom award of the World Association of News Publishers.
Lai, who founded #AppleDaily, has been detained for nearly a year on charges under the National Security Law, including colluding with foreign forces and endangering national security. He is expected to spend his 74th birthday on Dec 8 behind bars.
Lai’s son, Sebastien Lai, accepted the award on behalf of his father. He said that “journalism is at the forefront of history,” and that “it records the present and informs the future. It is a check against the powerful, and the voice of the people in times of strife.”
Apple Daily, one of Hong Kong’s most popular Chinese-language newspapers, closed in June after authorities used the controversial National Security Law to arrest the editor-in-chief and four other senior executives.
“With Apple Daily closing in Hong Kong, and a crackdown against journalism across the region, there will be less and less people shining light in these dark corners.”
Sebastien Lai said, adding “Thank you very much for this award but please keep dad, the Apple Daily newsroom in Hong Kong, and the people of Hong Kong in your thoughts as these events unfold.”
