China's cruise industry set to make waves again

China's cruise industry, suspended for more than three years due to the pandemic, is expected to resume operations in the fourth quarter, state media reported, citing industry experts and researchers at a recent forum in the north port city of Tianjin.China could see 200,000 cruise passengers this year, or about 10 percent of the pre-pandemic numbers in 2019, the China Daily report cited an industry executive as saying, an encouraging sign for its tepid international leisure travel sector."The past three years... have brought great challenges to the cruise industry," Zheng Weihang, executive vice-president and secretary-general of the Cruise and Yacht Branch of China Communications Association, was quoted as saying. He predicted international services linking cruise ports including Tianjin would resume in the last three months of 2023.According to other state media reports, China is planning to undock its first domestically made cruise ship on Tuesday, with the "Adora Magic City" scheduled to be delivered at end-2023. Date Word Received: October 17, 2022

Something significant is about to take place in the Caspian Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the China Sea.
The waters are moving. Movements are being made. Plans are being stopped. Territory is being taken back. The waters all over are about to give up things that have been hidden underneath.

Things are getting dicey. This occurs when your enemy no longer fears you.

🇨🇳🇺🇸📰 Bloomberg: US Navy Hit by Chinese Hacking Campaign, Report Says

— "An alleged campaign by Chinese state-sponsored hackers on targets in the US and Guam has raised fears that Beijing is preparing to disrupt communications in the Pacific in the event of a conflict.

The hacking campaign was first identified by Microsoft Corp. on Wednesday and quickly confirmed by authorities in the US, UK and other allied nations. Microsoft said the hacking group, which it dubbed Volt Typhoon, had breached government, communications, manufacturing and IT organizations in the US and Guam, a crucial military post in the western Pacific Ocean.

While the identities of most of the hacking victims remains unknown, US Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro told CNBC on Thursday that the Navy was impacted by the intrusions. The extent of the breach wasn’t immediately known. A spokesperson for the US Navy declined to “discuss the status of our networks.”"

🇨🇳🇺🇸📰 USA Today: Suspected Chinese spies, disguised as tourists, tried to infiltrate Alaskan military bases

— "Chinese citizens posing as tourists but suspected of being spies have made several attempts in recent years to gain access to military facilities in this vast state studded with sensitive bases, according to U.S. officials.

In one incident, a vehicle with Chinese citizens blew past a security checkpoint at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, several soldiers told USA TODAY. The vehicle was eventually stopped, and a search found a drone inside the vehicle. The occupants claimed they were tourists who had gotten lost."

we are seeing a growing disconnect between Western ‘values’, including on critical issues like food and energy production, and the needs of developing countries, many of which have struggled since the pandemic.

In a period of steadily rising costs, countries such as Egypt, Pakistan and India are refusing to sanction Russian oil, allowing Moscow to match its pre-war oil exports.

China has also boosted its oil purchases from Russia, as demand hits record levels.

Unlike the affluent West, people in these countries still believe in future growth. When searching for a modern Marshall Plan, they look increasingly not to America or Europe for support, but to China.
