Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) stock appears to have risen after former President Trump’s “pep rally” meeting with House Republicans on Capitol Hill.

Johnson has come under fire from hard-line conservatives for cutting deals with President Biden — which sparked an effort by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to remove his gavel — fueling questions about his future atop the conference.

But on Thursday, Trump sided with Johnson over those in the right flank, lauding the Speaker’s performance in his still nascent leadership tenure and joking to Greene that she should “be nice” to Johnson. Greene acknowledged the exchange and said Trump also noted her loyalty to him.

A man has been charged with using threatening behaviour after objects were thrown at the Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage.

The incident occurred while Mr Farage was on an open-top bus, campaigning in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on Tuesday.
Police said Josh Greally, 28, had been charged with using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear.

Mr Greally, from Clowne, Derbyshire, been released on bail to appear at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on 26 June.

A Pentagon-funded company is seeking proposals to feed America’s soldiers lab-grown meat in a bid to "reduce the CO2 footprint" at Defense Department outposts.

BioMADE, a public-private company that has received more than $500 million in funding from the Defense Department, announced earlier this month that it is seeking proposals to develop "innovations in food production that reduce the CO2 footprint of food production at ... DoD operational environments," according to an online announcement.

These include "novel cell culture methods suitable for the production of cultivated meat/protein," or lab-grown meat, a product that is still in its experimental phases. This type of meat is grown in a lab from animal cells with the aid of other chemicals, and has emerged as a flashpoint in debates about the efficacy and morality of manufacturing meat products without slaughtering animals.

Hunter Biden is agreeing to drop a civil lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani and Giuliani's former lawyer Robert Costello, according to a court filing Thursday.

The president's son last year formally accused Giuliani and Costello of violating computer fraud and data access laws, alleging they manipulated data from his "devices or storage platforms."

Attorneys for all three parties filed the agreement, which stipulates that Biden agrees to drop the lawsuit and that each man will pay his own legal fees.

The lawsuit initially sought more than $75,000 in damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and other penalties.

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI) said Thursday he has subpoenaed the Biden administration for documents on President Joe Biden’s March 2021 executive order (EO) to federal agencies to partner with local election officials, which he said is an attempt to “tilt the scales ahead of 2024.”

Steil has subpoenaed 15 cabinet members for documents related to the EO, titled “Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting,” which directs federal agencies to promote access to voting through the use of federal agency resources.
