The UK is making a big mistake accepting this semi-conductor deal.
Given Brexit, it's understandable (sort of) why they would want to do this, but this flip-flopping is not helping with making a clear stance to CCP.

By flip flopping I mean, first they condemn China for human rights abuse, then they offer lifeboats to HKers. They also block huawei from its 5G network. But then they turn around and accept these kinda deals… just why?

PREVIOUSLY: UK Gov did not consider it “appropriate to intervene” in the Newport deal.
UK GOV NOW: “We have considered this issue thoroughly, and will continue to monitor the situation closely. The National Security Adviser is reviewing this case and we will not hesitate to take further action if needed"
