Reading AA's The Populist Delusion and Pareto's lions vs. foxes puts me in mind of David & Solomon respectively.

David is a fierce warrior himself but there are also The Three and the other mighty men.

Solomon as the ultimate fox should be obvious.

Most spectacular gaffe ever?

“Michael Kinsley once defined a gaffe as inadvertently telling the truth.”

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot edit,
courage to edit the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

“Where men are forbidden to honor a king they honor millionaires, athletes, or film-stars instead -- even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served -- deny it food and it will gobble poison.”

Haven’t watched it yet, but I have confidence from AA's extraordinary skill at scholarship that I will learn many new things whether I agree with his conclusions or not.

Academic Agent's video on slavery was— to be honest, not bad. One of the things that does impress me about him is that he can, in just a few days put together a (relatively) good overview of just about any topic in less time than most graduate specialists can.

Francis Schaeffer produced a documentary back in the early 70’s titled “How Shall We Then Live” - I watched the entire series (I think it was 8 or 9 episodes at around 30 min. in length) on Amazon Prime (US) last year. Highly recommend. So relevant to what is happening today. The episodes on media and AI are especially interesting. Too bad so few heeded the warnings 50 years ago.
Tonight is the 7yo twin’s turn to pick a movie for family movie night.

So of course they pick a moody, existential film about man and nature with no dialogue.
