British Foreign Secretary: may Boycott 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic To Raise his Concerns on CCP Suppression to Uyghurs
The Uyghurs human rights matter in Xinjiang, China has attracted international attention. Following the joint statement from 39 countries, including Germany, the US and the UK, calling on China to allow UN observers to investigate in Xinjiang, the British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament that the UK should take actions to call China for direct facing the problem. He also said he would not rule out the possibility of boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics in February 2022.
On Tuesday in the local time, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the British Parliament discussed the Uyghurs human rights in China. Raab was asked whether he would take a stand on boycotting the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. He answered that he hoped to separate sports and diplomatic politics, but “may come to a point where that might not be possible”. He would collect evidence and co-orporate with the international society, to think about the further actions in the future.
Raab also said in the meeting that the situation with the Uyghurs was worrying as they were being detained, tortured and forcibly sterilized. Their human rights had been severely violated. The UK needed to take action and demanded China to take responsibility. He hoped to corporate with other countries, or even to send a clear opposition message to China through sanctions.

In den frühen Morgenstunden des gestrigen Tages standen wir mit @Junge Liberale JuLis vor der FU Berlin, um unsere Missbilligung des Einflusses des Konfuzius-Instituts in Deutschland, insbesondere als Propaganda verbreitende Einrichtung an verschiedenen deutschen Universitäten, zu zeigen.
Später standen wir mit der Tibet Initiative Deutschland e.V., dem World Uyghur Congress, @Sino Euro Voices, der Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker (GfbV) Internationale Gesellschaft für Menschenrechte e.V. vor der chinesischen Botschaft, um am #InternatioanlHumanRightsDay für die Menschenrechte von #Hongkongern, #Uiguren, #Taiwaner, #Tibetern und #Mongolen zu protestieren. Wir lasen die Allgemeine Erklärung der Menschenrechte laut vor, um nicht nur China an die Verpflichtungen des Staates zur Gewährleistung einer fairen Behandlung zu erinnern, sondern auch uns an unsere Sache und unseren Kampf für universelle Rechte für alle zu erinnern.

In the early hours of yesterday, we stood with Junge Liberale JuLis in front of the FU Berlin to show our disapproval of the Confucius Institute's influence in Germany, especially as a propaganda-spreading institution in various Germany Universities.
Later, we stood with Tibet Initiative Deutschland e.V., World Uyghur Congress, @Sino Euro Voices, Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker (GfbV) Internationale Gesellschaft für Menschenrechte e.V. in front of the Chinese Embassy to protest for the human rights of #Hongkongers, #Uyghurs, #Taiwanese, #Tibetans, and #Mongolians on #InternatioanlHumanRightsDay. We read aloud the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to remind not only China of the obligations of the state to ensure fair treatment, but also to remind us of our cause and our fight for universal rights for all.
