More Thai Stars Speak Up In Defence of Freedom of Speech and Condemn Police Violence

Thai-American K-Pop idol Nichkhun, of a poular band 2pm in South Korea, wrote on Twitter: "The use of violence is something I cannot watch and stand idly by": "Violence has never helped anything. I hope everyone stays safe... and take care of yourselves."

With 6.9 million followers on Twitter, Nichkhun's message went viral and was retweeted by tens of thousands within hours.

Thai-Canadian model Amanda Obdam, who is named this year's Miss Universe Thailand,
on Instagram posted pictures of police violence. She wrote, "A picture says a thousand words....Your job is to protect the people not harm them."

Maria Poonlertlarp, a beauty queen and TV personality, voiced on Facebook that the treatment of protesters was "completely unjust".
