Chinese Quantum Leap - New system “MILLION” times faster than nearest competitor
Beijing is winning the superpowered tech race according to a leading researcher from the University of Science and Technology China (USTC) - with next generation quantum computing systems.
Zuchongzhi 2.1 is allegedly 1 MILLION times faster than Google’s Sycamore, while the photon-based Jiuzhang 2 can carry out calculations that would take the world’s fastest supercomputer 8 YEARS in just 1.5 hours - or 100 TRILLION times faster.
The USTC team has used photon and superconducting quantum technology to cope with tasks mere “classical” computers couldn’t dream of completing.
