A Russian man became a lifesaver for a 17-year-old Indian patient

It is no less than a surprise for a Russian man to have matching genetic traits with an Indian patient for bone marrow transplant. But this is what happened with 17-year-old thalassemia patient Chirag when he found his lifesaver in the form of 29-year-old Russian man Roman Simnizhki.

Dr Bhatt, Director of Narayana Group of Hospitals, said, 'The chances of finding a donor for Indian thalassemia patients are 5 to 10 percent. But what happened with Chirag is no less than a miracle.'
